O my God!!!!!!

This is how i wowed when i got the shocker i serve here...i dare and deserve your curses and swears!

They have been making all fuss about their being the 'true' representatives of the  Indian populace, and thus the constitutional guards! Are they...naaaaa, pops the figures.Ever wondered, who the hell are you in the scheme of things the representatives representing you(in the parliament) plan for your nation...right, your nation, but none of your business! Have stomach...give your iPod some rest, and listen to this gazal...well just listen, even i didn't like it much when i stumbled into it!

Let me start with a small bibliographic kinda introduction: the music to this gazal is  copied,in entirety, from the official website of Chief Election Commission(India, GE 2009), unofficially. India has( i won't use have, ever) 716 mn electors, those who can vote. In the General Election 2009, 417mn i.e. 58.2% of the total electors chose to weather the Sun off to handpick, randomly...most of them, those who would piggyback us in the name of  'elected representatives'and drive  this nation crazy to the best of their whims and fancies for the next five years. So, they are right up there...and to it!

We have 544 elected members in the Parliament. Out of these, only 42 ie 7.72% have secured 40% or more(of total electors in their respective constituency). 179 ie 32% have somehow managed to lure 31-40% of the electors. And now the bombshell, 323 ie roughly 60% could convince/threaten/beg/etc 30% or less than that...of them, 95(17.4%) couldn't touch even 20% mark( Had it been any of us scoring that much less, we all know what our parents would've done to us...shivers)!!!!!

Here is the next stanza...irshaad. All national parties garnered 265 mn votes(36.9% of the electorate grabbing 376 seats between them)...much less than the population of  Uttar Pradesh and Bihar combined! State parties swept their hands on146 seats against 98.4 mn(14.39%) votes they cornered.

Now, the pinch. On an average, an elected MP has pocketed 4 lac votes# to be there to thump the benches, or to sip tea at Re 1 per cup,eat Biryani for Rs 8, munch chicken at Rs 24.50! Our 544 representatives thus have the support of 217 mn ie 17.7% of the total populace! Technically, the so called representatives of the people in our Parliament represent only 1/6 th of the people. You there, literally...chances are 5/6th dark!

Another pinch...it really pinches, hard. The ruling Indian National Congress is riding on the shoulders of 119 mn voters it could huddle in...9.75% of the total Indians and 16.61% of the total electors! Wait, worst is yet to ooze out. Considering they have 206 MPs in the Lok Sabha, these MPs have 82 mn votes to grind on...roughly 11.4% of the electorate and meager 6.7% of the total population!! Though we know who rule
the roost, but still if you try to play ideal here...even then, representatives of  109 mn(273 into 4 lacs) ie 15.09% of the electorate, and 8.95 % of the total population, decide the fate of 1220 mn Indians!A motley of thickskins representing a figure equivalent to the Delhi Metro commuters of  8 days so audaciously claim to be the only representative body while disclaiming everybody else unconstitutional! Theater of the extreme absurd!Clap...the dear and mute spectator!

All this seemingly jiggery -pokery is, unfortunately, the most honest interpretation of how the great Indian democracy works, or let it worked in the hands of the tiniest minority clamouring to be the biggest and tallest of them all!

# On an average an elected MP in the 15th ie the current Lok Sabha has secured 4,00,000 votes. Like, winning BJP candidate from Andaman & Nicobar got 75,211 votes only, while Inder Singh Namdhari( Chatra contituency) got 1,08336 votes. Suvendhu Adhikari(Tamluk) of AITC secured 6,37,644 votes.

All figures are taken from CEC website and other authentic sources, and are true to the best of my efforts.

Khaadi in Tihar!

Last heard, Gandhi has decided to wear his true color, Khaadi in Tihar!

Yup dude, i mean Gandhi.
Actually, he had had enough shit about India, its democracy, etc in his abode high up there. So after dinner on 14th, he decided to have reality check himself, and , as has been his signature style, strode out.On 15th, the whole nation was replete with tri-colours...even the PM dared speak! He was awestruck by the festivity and the lavish accolades with which him and his coterie was showered , because he never expected to last this nation too long. He called the chaps there in Heaven and asked if he could stay a few more days...chaps there being kinda  non-puppet sort of...unlike the Daily Polish...and having known Gandhi for so many years, didn't see Bombdev in him and promptly agreed.

Tired...he went to a well lit house where some people were cooking his kind of 'fast' stuff...i'm the game, he declared and asked our Anna to let him instead...it's been years, he's reported to have said by one 'first-to-smell& break-the-exclusive-rot' TV channel. That's how, Gandhi in the garb of Anna went to bed dreaming of  repeating the history!

Ah, the history...it never repeats itself the way we wish it to...it takes its own whimsical course to repeat the lessons we never care to take notice of...the lessons we enjoy, cherish and decorate in our history books with pictorial delinquencies never get the second light.

So when Gandhi,  fresh  after a relatively calm night which he could never had during his tumultuous life time, was about to leave and lead... a few puppets of the Daily Polish barbed in. 'You can't be allowed to do it, again. It may create traffic jam...may create problems for the Daily-walas..and law and order,etc... these  are more important than the..what you call...corruption, blah blah'. Reported a 'smell-all' Channel. Before he could say anything, he was being bundled in the vain.

Somewhere else, one Mr Piddyvaram could be heard boasting,' No (one)man, however old can threaten us'.
Another 'loose cannon' is conspicuous by his absence...probably, canned for being loose for so so long!

Startled, Gandhi wrote to the PM Nehru who has grown beards of lately. Latest is, Nehru shot back in no time distancing himself from the heinous act citing that it's between him and the authorities...his department is yet to come out of its helplessness. He is reported to have shown an iron hand, a strong political jargon for perceptively weaker  tough stand. 'I don't subscribe to your eternal bullying...it's been enough of it...even more , you're not going to jail for the first time...you should enjoy it...i'm no better off ', claimed the best sniffer adding it got it from the-first-in-the-stable horse's mouth! 'But, that was for the reason and permissible then...you well know', Gandhi believed to have thrown in the air.

In the meantime, the New Congress (Sulking&Panicked) has hurriedly convened a press conference to show, probably, that it can act promptly, sometimes. There it claimed that it was an administrative act...has nothing to do with it...Gandhi is reaping what he so enthusiastically sowed...it's a new party with new interests, thus dissociate itself from such nonsensical and anachronistic malapropagndism! The New Congress(S&P) has issued a whip to all its MPs to be present in the parliament, they seldom otherwise, where it plans to introduce a bill which dictates,' Polish is independent of govt and vice versa, whenever and wherever Gandhi, and alike, strikes or fasts'. It will undertake a special 'study session', in the evening to study how the Britishers dealt with the menace.A few experts have been flown in from the UK.

It's raining puppies and kittens, and roads are clogged. Polish contemplating who to blame and arrest now.

Kalmadi and Gandhi share the 'cabin'.Kalmadi has decided to write to  Piddyvaram to thank for the honour.

Last heard, Gandhi has dug in. The Daily Polish and the New Congress(S&P) has given him two options: to go to Rajghat or to be deported back to heaven.

He declined both!

Anna, beware!

SO, the constitutional hagglers are back...back with prank!

There seem to be many versions of the law in a  democracy. In a true democracy like India, it seems to have more than many, and all true to the individual spirit and motive of the pursuer. Probably, Baba Saheb smelled the future rot when he offered a salt pouch to the visitors to the constitution-marriage party.Constitution is not the panacea to all Indian problems, but a mere guiding torch in the hands of future bearers and their institutions, he declared with prophetic certitude.

One version was evident when Baba Ramdev was given the reddest carpet(available) welcome by a bevy of  motivated constitutional guardians at one Airport, only to bundle him back through another ...thrashed,humiliated and ruffled. Probably, because the novice yoga-preacher mistook the clad for the skin. One colour  of the scheme which welcomed him faded away into the evening, once their interpretation was over , to give way to the second  which cracked down on the sleeping children, young ladies, elderlies at midnight, probably to prove that law doesn't discriminate day over night, old over young, male over female...it's a true leveler, only of its kind.

One version is exclusively for Rahul Gandhi. For being the only harbinger of equality, justice, tribal rights, dalit empowerment and farmers' delight in the states not administered by the Congress. He can sneak in where the proverbial 'kavi' may cower out. He has constitutional and legal right to say whatever nonsense he can grumble... to travel where the hell ever he may wish to...to hold rallies and meetings whenever and wherever he may fantasize!

Mr Gilani  comes to New Delhi...spits poison against our nation...tears hole into our sacred constitution...orchestrates a  hate-speech, every word dipped in the red  amid all media galore...goes back more pride and more defiant. His garb is farther than thy hands the great leveler!

'Chalo Delhi'!Because, a drunk truck driver mowed down a poor buffalo and the local SHO failed to take 'suit-my-demand' action. 'Chalo -Delhi'. Because, my land is not as fertile as my neighbors!

'Pahuncho Delhi'. Because, we have to celebrate our dear leader's birthday. What better way to block roads and people's lives through procession!

They all can,but you can not. Right to life and liberty, freedom of expression, freedom of peaceful demonstration, etc, as you say are the bulwark of any democracy. But, whose right? Their, Anna. They have worked really hard and for so many years to dig their respective holes to shelter themselves against all evens and odds, and now you want to plug them! Not tolerable. You are welcome if you come, disturb them for one day and go back chanting, but if you wish to dig your own hole or block theirs forever...not tolerable.

They are the government, they are the law and they are the sanctimonious institutions our constitution provides for. You? An octogenarian, ex-army driver, a common man...a common man...how dare you the common.....!The so called civil society activists... activistssssssssss...what it means!!A bunch of disgruntled lot...a jealous bogey of incompetent power-grabbers...a few lens-savvy mavericks...what you know about the law... the nation...the corruption! They know better...much better.

They have fed themselves on what you've been starved of. They know the taste. They won't let anybody spoil  the party of the rot and the loot...not so easily. Anna, beware...because we care...for you and this nation!!!!

History Spares No Notion!

History spares no nation(title is OK, i meant 'notion' only)!

Though we don't have much time for history and its lessons, nor we share any regard for what history tries to tell us, in most of the cases hard ways.More often than not, historical rendering meanders through the wasteland of human follies only to be sheltered in the high drama of Shakespearean comedy...waiting for learn-able translations.History repeats itself is an age old dictum, to some minds as old as history itself...to some flighted minds, even older.

The new dictum is history depletes all! The nation in the grind is Greece and the notion are many.

Watching 'Troy' may make any shirt too short to contain the puffed up chest and may put any pant to vulnerability test failing incessantly to keep the mercurial adrenaline to its owner's original level thus risking a momentary riot, personal.Remember the toned, thundering, marauding Achillies who single-handedly could destroy an army of hundreds...who was lurking through the 'scared to the surety of the death' eyes of the great Hector...and who in the process escalated you into the super human fantasized you. He was a Greek. Just one Greek, as real as our own Arjun, Karan, Suyodhana. And there were thousands spread over the mountains, swathe of plain and sea and over the bark of  trees out to conquer and stamp great Greek imprints all over the known or unknown horizons of this planet and beyond, yes and beyond if you have a heart to trust the epics Illiad and Odyssey by Homer set in the 2nd Millennium BC and written at the end of that millennium(subject to historical scrutiny)!

Having through '300'(the movie) may have thrown you out of your couch with a few bruises to your sense of patriotism and a few blows to your sanctimonious selfishness. And, may have exhorted you to collect yourself to be the man from next morning or may have suspended your sense of being altogether or to the extreme pull and push may have shattered you into unrecognizable pieces of your egotism or may have shrieked your heart off your cosy chamber at the cruel treatment they meted to the disabled.Whatever the thrashing your soul may been through, the great King Leonid was a Greek, the proud and the real, historically proven, Greek.A Spartan. The Spartan, to bewilder you a bit more, were the first to make the war a scientific, tactical and mental exercise which was at the core of the nation building, expanding, developing and retaining and was a process... bold step by  bolder step process. You got it right if you got it, nation building is a Greek gift to the human civilization!Alexander was  no fluke, but a resultant embodiment of the process so masterly inculcated and nurtured through the blood and sweat addition and subtraction of generational field contributions. He subdued the almost, except India, whole of the populace known to the geographist then.

Whenever you get over with the number of gold coins there may have been in the vaults at the  Sri Padmanabha temple in Kerala don't forget to give a slight mind share to the Greek, it were they who minted the first, Gold or whatever, coin. Before we chalk out our own historical journey through the corridors of democratic institutions we so deservedly boast of, lets collect our breath and thank again the Greek for their invaluable gift to us and to the world.

Political science was never a science or an art or whatever. The mammoth institutions which Anna and his team is crusading against are the later additions, but the Greek prepared the mould and cast the dye for the original political institutions. The multidimensional  contours it so feverishly displays may not be the Greek setting, but the sapling and a few ribs clearly belongs to the great Greek invention lab. They started discussing, evaluating and coding politics not occasionally , but as a calendar exercise...en masse! Probably, much earlier than our own genius Chankaya set out to give civility his very own political cult and art, than science.

He was a genius of no parallel, even today. Shakespeare, i wish to drag here. What Shakespeare, and a few before him and very many after him, tended to master, he surely did, and muster, the Greek were on the test ride in the streets of Athens, etc much much earlier. Aristotle, father of literature and philosophy, brought down to the size of wordly wisdom what flowed in the Greek city-state streets.Literature, as we know it today, got its first cesarean precision in the woods of Greece where 'the real master' inked the vastly fertile wordscape which even today so decidedly sits atop that none has dared challenge but learn from it.It was in the same or extended woods, but well within the sacred boundaries of Greece, or Hellas or the Hellenic as it is alternatively known, that the seeds of the philosophy were sown, nourished, sweated and raised to be harvested by the generations to come. So many generations have, since then, taken themselves  to different woods only to find themselves struggling in or out of the Greek conundrum. The drama, comedy as well as tragedy, owes itself nowhere else.

No sporting event has more sweat to its share than the Olympics, i shouldn't bother much words arguing that. The games have indelible Greek stamp. The Kenyans or the Ethiopians grab the news, gold and the green today, but it was Pheidippides a Greek who ran for 26 kms to death from Marathon to Athens to announce to the fellow citizens the news of the Greek victory in the Battle OF Marathon(490 BC against the Persian intrusion) .

Last, but not the least is the university education which is the hallmark of a nation or a society's state of intellectual affairs has its mapping done in the brainstorms of the Greek pedagogy. It was here in centuries before BC when somewhere else man was busy distinguishing himself from the monkeys that the Greek were assiduously engaged in the strenuous task of feeding its youth with what was the Greek paradigm and what should be the future rhyme.

It may not take a blink for the historically blind to pass Greece as a nation on sale, but a gratitude world citizen knows what it means to be a Greek. No civilization can survive on the laurels of its past, in case of Greece long past, glory, but that gives enough courage to look further.

I wish not to be judgemental, but once the torchbearer of human civilization, Greece is now in the darkest phase of its existence and probably no torch at hand. It pains to pity a nation which once was the pride exemplified!

Dr Manmohan Singh Haazir hain!

The latest buzz is, Dr Singh to address 'media' more frequently.

I'm nervous because last time, approx 4 months back, when he addressed media i couldn't see the Prime Minister of world's largest democracy speaking up...missed the exuberance of one of the widely acclaimed and listened to economists of the modern era...couldn't figure out 'the man' from 'a man'...and couldn't bear the sheer unpreparedness and nervousness that kept his tongue bogged down under the shrill weight of high-tones he might have attuned himself pre-confrontation. And, he's been made to undergo the same tourney more frequently! There're reasons to be nervous.

Agree.Times is changing, so does the political camouflage. A politician is not treated a sacrosanct any more, thanks more to their lusty, greedy, selfish and corrupt demeanour than other factors.Rising awareness and knowledge of and around has brought in a paradigm shift in our expectations. When we watch head of the strongest nation of the planet mingling and responding humanly to the curious contours of of a few students, we wonder 'why not our leaders'!When we see Mr Hugo Chavez tweeting with us like us, we ponder 'why not our leaders'. When we see pictures of Mr Sarkozi cracking and sharing light moments with journos, our expectations saunter 'why not our leaders'! It's perfectly alright to speak to the people who you represent, but it's highly demeaning if it's an outcome of frenzied outcries...if it's done to counter the avoidable...if it's done to bolster the the damaged cannon...and more importantly, if it's done to save the face! You are welcome Dr Singh to speak to us, but not now ...not this way.Had it been a result of natural evolution of events and political gestures than 'compulsive response measure', you would've been on the proverbial high platform.

Next. The nation has witnessed the high drama of varied degree since he last spoke to the media. Civil society has been on the coil and boil expecting each time from their 'honest' PM a word of courage or caution.None came. Why now?

If through media, they want him to connect to the people, there are serious doubts about that. Media as a medium of concerted concern has lost its dignity to the fiefdom of TRPs.What he intends to say is to be delivered, nobody can be sure. At the end of the event, he may find himself wondering at what is being beamed as the 'breaking news' wasn't even imagined, there's no wonder if a break is ink out of no news. What is spicy is what is salable, and media is a business of selling space; and that you know comes with TRPs...your plain, clear and clean content is not the news!

Silence is golden! Probably the damage is done beyond repair. The more you explain, the less you convince is the dictum. Your said or unsaid words would give fodder to controversy demon than quench the unquenchable you, Dr Singh, seek to seek.

It reminds me of an analogy. There was a king who lived in a palace atop a hill. One day, a few aggrieved villagers climbed and knocked his door.He was inside, but couldn't dare face them. They stayed there for a day or two, and then came back thinking the king was not in the palace; they concluded, had the king been there he would surely have helped them. Likewise, we construed that all these news somehow were not reaching to our PM, otherwise he would have come to our rescue. Now, the PM is out and we know he knew we knocked! We feel betrayed, more than ever!

He'll be addressing the media more frequently. How frequently...once a week, there are rumours. When the nation is struggling with inflation which threatens to explode into double digit any soon...when FDI is down by over 23% while in case of China it's up 34%...when Sensex is on a roller coaster...68% of agri land is on the verge of desertification...the biggest FDI project is in jeopardy, etc etc etc...our worthy PM has time enough to romance the media! His face is more important or the nation, he must decide, soonest!

I'm nervous, suspicious and betrayed like many others who know interaction with media does not address our concerns, they are too deep to be fathomed by hypocrisy and too simple to be fooled by inaction.

We want real solutions to our real problems and this is the only reason we've put you where you are. Deliver and then speak to us...we hate it when you explain only!

An Ode to Manmohanism!

He is an honest man!

As the saying goes, 'whatever, but never doubt an honest man'.So, never doubt Dr Manmohan Singh and his efforts.Being an economist he knows better than those who can't buy proper meals for their families that inflation is good for a developing economy. It pains me when people complain about the rising poor population( Minimum figure is 40 crore only) and don't credit him for a few billionaires he has created. It's utterly disgusting to see people demonstrating against his policy initiatives without realizing the honest intent behind them...he has a vision, and mind you his vision is beyond your mental horizon of raising a family...he is well settled and his family is secure, now is out to raise a nation!People are starving, you say, and wheat, rice, etc are rotting in the govt. go-downs; he is the Prime Minister not an ass hole like us...he may have a plan, a big one...there's something which we can't see. Economics is not about demand and supply...he must be working on some theory, etc...may be, he is trying to explore correlation between rotting wheat and rotting life...so just wish him good luck.

What...rising petrol prices! How many times do i have to remind you, he is an economist, and being a good economist he understands how important it's for an organization like India to value the interests of its stakeholders.Oil companies are invaluable contributors and it's his 'economical' duty to safeguard them against misers like us.Moreover, tax share of govt in petrol etc can not be cut because it's uneconomy-like.And if you want to blame him for his inclination towards Capitalism than mixed economy then where in our constitution that mix is properly set...furthermore, constitution is a political document and he is an economist...you moron!

He has burden of world expectations...Obama praised him and many others appreciated his role and policies. So, we have to become his 'shoulder-strength' not his 'knee-weakness'.And we have a precedent in our most revered book, the Mahabharata...to raise a demon everybody has to be a valid and willing victim...though comparisons are flawed but lessons are straight!

Role!Yes he's a role in everything, but not in the sense you take it.He is NOT A Weak Prime Minister! He sleeps on volcanic scams...he approves them without letting himself know that he has approved them.It takes an iron ass and aluminum curtain! And don't forget how bravely and honestly, he faces media, address rallies, gives interviews after every monthly scam!Don't drag him into 'horse trading', 'cabinet sharing' shit, he is a clean man. Look at his smile which has not diminished an iota, whatever falsely implicating has been written or said about him...doesn't it explain a lot about him!?!

Who made him what he is...Sonia na! And if he is repaying back for the sacrifice she made you call him a dumb, deaf dog...a selective blind owl!I give damn to your thinking...shameful! If he approves of everything Rahul sees, explains and asks for, you term him a sycophant...pathetic! He believes in logic.Because Rahul has an eyewitness's account of the situation so he has reasons and logic to believe that there must be a difference between the plight of farmers in UP, WB, Orrisa and farmers in  Congress-administered state.

And now you want me to explain why lathicharge on sleeping peaceful protesters at midnight in Ramlila Ground yesterday?Look man, everybody knows he works 14-16 hrs a day, so it was his sleeping time and nobody bothered him. Second, his mansion, built and maintained from the pockets of those who were being thrashed, was a few hundred meters from that place. Thirdly, he doesn't watch TV on Sunday. Whenever, he'll be apprised of the situation, you yourself would see him addressing a press conference condemning the incident in his own Manmohanic style and manners!

Because, he is an honest man!
